100% Blaufränkisch from a relatively new single vineyard. Vines on clay and loess soils. Half of the grapes are macerated for a short time, one half of a day and the juice pressed. The other half macerates for two weeks in the pressed juice as whole clusters creating a semi-carbonic maceration. The wine is then pressed to large acacia barrels to age for 10 months. The semi-carbonic is apparent with a fullness to the fruit and a candied quality. Dark cherries and mixed berries.
