Veselý Rosé 2022

Veselý is the name of a single co-planted vineyard on a hillside whose name dates back to the Middle Ages. Planted in the 1980’s with many different varieties both red and white, the vines sit on sandy soils, and have been farmed organically ever since Richard took them over in the early 90’s. A direct pressing of all grapes of the field, red and white together. Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Traminer, Müller-Thurgau, Neuburger, Pinot Blanc, Malvasia, Muscat Moravia, Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent, Blauer Portugieser, Cabernet Moravia, Zweigelt, and André (the Czech crossing of Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent). Footstomped and pressed into large acacia barrels for 10 months. Dark pink in color with cherries and candied red fruit nose. A touch of iron and bitterness in the mouth, matched with a vibrant and juicy expression.
