Extremely poised and classy expression of 100% direct press Pinot Gris. Extended élevage in Alsacien Foudres. Vines on the same limestone terroir as the Steinert vineyard. Rare to find Pinot Gris pressed direct these days in Alsace as many winemakers are moving toward the macerated style. Jean-François takes a gentle approach here, showing the lovely nuance of the grape. Mineral with a savory/ nutty quality. Citrus and stone fruit, the palate is broad and persistent with strong lingering acid and richness from the additional time aging on lees in the barrel.
