A mix of all the Muscat varieties in Richard’s vineyards. Moravian Muscat, Muscat Ottonel, Yellow Muscat, Muscaris, Muscana, Mery, and Bluttenmuskateller. Richard calls it a grape-honey alcoholic beverage as he adds a small amount of his own honey to the wine during the peak of fermentation, which results in about a 2-3 percent boost in alcohol. Based on old traditions from the middle ages, Richard picks the Muscats slightly earlier to retain acid and gets fuller texture from the honey addition. Fermented whole bunch for 7 days in open-top wooden barrel, foot stomped and pressed to age for 10 months in various sizes of large wood barrels. Rich and powerful citrus with the background of Muscat florals.
