Mâcon Villages Blanc 2021

Mâcon-Cruzille, Bourgogne, France

From the first slopes of the Saône Valley in communes, Chardonnay, Montbellet, and Viré-Clessé. These Chardonnay vines, raging in age from 25-87 years, grow on fine, weathered loam over Jurassic limestone. The shallow soils, rich in calcareous and siliceous clay, lend the wine its mineral edge. Hand-harvested and aged on lees for 12 months. Fruit concentrated Chardonnay, floral and packed with citrus. Sublime minerality with beautiful fluidity. All around benchmark in Chardonnay that doesn't suffer from the weight of oak.
