100% Riesling from the Lerchenberg site. Older vines ranging in age from 42-56 years, on pure limestone soils. Direct pressed and aged unconventionally in stainless steel tank for one year. Since 2021, Jean-François has all but done away with even applying for the Alsace general AOC in which his wines would be labeled Vin d’Alsace. Instead opting for Vin De France across the board. This means certain varieties, Riesling being one, can’t be included on the label. So the vineyard name is used moving forward and the R. represents Riesling. Extremely high toned and mineral with the petroly and citrus nose we love to see in quality Riesling.
